Scrubtit

Acanthornis magnus

The scrubtit is found in rainforest and wet eucalypt forest. Although common, it is often difficult to see because of its shy nature.

It hops up tree trunks and has a typical 'to-wee-to' call. It feeds on insects and other invertebrates among bark and leaf litter.

It breeds from September to December, laying three white lightly spotted eggs.
