North Coast Island Group

Egg Island is a significant island because of its large black-faced cormorant population. Forming part of Horseshoe Reef, just off the coast from Devonport Airport, Egg Island is a small, flat, rounded-pebble islet with a rocky outer shore (about one hectare/2.5 acres). Crested terns have been recorded breeding on the island in the past.
