Become one of the family when you choose a homestead or farmstay experience. Your experience may involve sharing the home with a family - including the bathroom/s, taking part in their schedule (early mornings anyone?), perhaps sharing meals too. Alternatively some of our host farms feature self catering luxury accommodation ... rural with style.

Homestead and farmstay hosts are naturally friendly and open, giving you a chance to get to understand our Island and its people.

You may be able to help a farmer close a gate or milk a cow, round up the odd sheep or two, watch kelp harvesters work the shorelines of their Bass Strait homes, feed a deer herd, pick olives or grapes in the Coal River Valley, Tamar Valley or east coast.

Better yet, if your normal pace is city-bound and frantic, a rural farm-stay will allow you to redefine time and observe the source of some of Australia's finest produce.
