Freycinet Eco Retreat offers stylish and secluded accommodation near Wineglass Bay on Tasmania’s east coast. Set on Mt Paul in the centre of the Freycinet peninsula, Freycinet Eco Retreat is a 485 hectare (1200 acre) Land for Wildlife property adjoining the Freycinet National Park.
Two superb self-contained and environmentally sustainable spacious lodges, each accommodating two people in king bedrooms, nestle in bushland on the sloping flank of Mt Paul. Bedrooms and living spaces open to a wide deck with sweeping views over Great Oyster Bay, the Hazards and the Freycinet Peninsula. Exposed timbers, polished granite, wooden floors, clean lines and modern appliances including a flatscreen TV, ipod dock and surround sound system, blend the comfort inside with the natural experience of landscape, and guests can enjoy peace, privacy, relaxation and the appeal of the natural environment.
The Freycinet region includes Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park, with activities including bushwalks, sea kayaking, rock climbing, ocean cruising and wildlife observation. Local oysters and cool-climate wines are east coast highlights. Take a drive to the surf beaches of Bicheno, or visit Maria Island National Park via ferry.
Coles Bay is two-and-a-half hours’ drive (192 kilometres/120 miles) northeast of Hobart.
