Huon Bush Retreats has taken the art of eco conscious accommodation and interpretive bush walking experience to a new level. The cabins gently remove you from gadget addiction and connectivity by distracting you with beautiful views, crackling fires and more than enough tools to whip up a gourmet feast.
TripAdvisor User, April 2011

As part of an Australia-wide body of research for a book to be published in 2009 and reviews on hundreds of eco-tourism operations I recommend Huon Bush Retreats as one of the best in the country. An outstanding example of positive environmental tourism and they deserve recognition for their ongoing efforts in building a sustainable business model and operation.

Located in an extensive private habitat reserve, Huon Bush Retreats is central to all the attractions of the Huon Valley just 50 minutes drive from Hobart. An award winning, carbon neutral, green globe light accredited retreat offering guests a choice of contemporary, self contained cabins, deluxe tipees and private campsites against an inspiring backdrop of Tasmanian native forest.

Relax by the fire with a glass of local wine or take in the view from the deck surrounded by native birds and wildlife. With easy access to five kilometres of interpreted walking tracks through rainforest, to a hidden waterfall or a mountaintop, you will not miss internet or television here. Your cabin is comfortably catered for with gas cooking facilities, fresh rainwater, solar powered lights, an eco-friendly composting toilet, a cosy wood heater and a private outdoor bath.

The Huon Valley is home to cool-climate vineyards and is famous for it's apple-growing heritage. Discover high quality local produce with an innovative and seasonal Huon Food Trail itinerary.

Breakfast hampers and gourmet freezer-to-plate meals are available on request.

Huon Bush Retreats offers a true retreat; access is via a four kilometre winding gravel road with a steep 500 metre section.
