This is the best accommodation experience ever I have had in the whole of Australia! Stylish unit, great location, beautiful renovation and decoration, brilliant view, convenient shopping -- totally comfortable stay and the most important, warmest service! This is a must stay in south Tasmania!

I chose the sleepy town of Dover for a 2 night stay at the start of our Tasmanian holiday.
And I'm glad I did. This accommodation was superb. Everything from the location to the room size & amenities (full kitchen) and cleanliness was bordering on perfect.
The extremely friendly owners treat you like friends from the moment you turn up. They even personally delivered extra toilet paper rolls when we needed them at 8.30pm, after driving all the way from their personal residence to do so.
The cabins back on to a central backyard type area and you feel like you're at home. You can use the hose to wash your car, or the washing line to dry your clothes (which we needed after being caught in the rain in Hartz Mountains).
We had gorgeous bird life just outside our door: Superb fairy wrens were everywhere as well as wattlebirds and others.
Then there is the bay just down the road and the surprisingly pleasant pub to eat at just a short drive away (we overlooked it the first night since it didn't look too good from the outside, but the food was great).
A note about Dover itself: don't expect it to be easy to find food. Most places close early, if they are even open at all. Stock up on goods from the supermarket just in case.
I give Smugglers Rest 5/5 stars for everything and it would even make me want to return to Dover if for no other reason but to relax in the quiet comfort of this hidden gem!
