Diving with Dragons

Keep an eye out for seadragons in Tasmanian waters including the rare weedy sea dragon.

Seadragons and other Syngnathidae attract a lot of attention because of their etherial appearance. To ensure they remain safe in the wild and to reduce your impact on these marvellous animals:

look but don’t touch
leave them where they are
do not herd them from their home range
do not move them up and down the water column
take special care with egg-carrying males
turn lights down – keep flashes to three or four per encounter.
