Food and Wine Events

Celebrate Tasmania's food and wine and meet the makers with events across the island.

There is so much on throughout the year which lets you experience your epicurian desires, or for others - just plain good tucker and the opportunity to relax with friends or fellow travellers.

The Taste of Tasmania marks the beginning of the culinary calendar, held annually in late December through to early days of the New Year. Taste the best of Tasmania’s fresh produce, fine wines and boutique beers during the week-long celebration in Hobart.

The event is shortly followed by Festivale in Launceston, an al fresco event in Launceston's historic City Park. Held each February, the event draws makers and producers from across the island.

Moving into March, wine connoisseurs will love the Southern Open Vineyards Weekend followed by May’s Savour Tasmania, an annual epicurean festival showcasing the highest quality local produce prepared by leading international and Australian chefs.

Come the winter months, head to Cradle Mountain Lodge in June for exquisite wine tastings with degustation dinners at Tastings at the Top. Indulgence continues into the month of July with Chocolate Winterfest in Latrobe followed by Tasmania Unbottled in August, bringing the finest Tasmanian wine and food to Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in exposés which have established a faithful following.

The wine theme continues in November with the Royal Hobart International Wine Show Public Tasting, while beer-lovers will be spoilt for choice with more than 100 boutique beers on offer during  Tasmanian Beerfest.

Specific dates for all Tasmanian food and wine events, as well as other culinary treats across the island can be found in our Events section.
