In the estuaries of our rivers, you will find big, hard-fighting sea-run trout and salmon.
Most of the rivers, estuaries and lagoons along Tasmania's north and east coasts offer opportunities to fish for feisty bream –some in excess of 40 centimetres (15 inches). Look for bream around natural or man-made structures with some current or tidal movement. Bream are ambush predators and will lunge out, grab their prey and head straight for cover.
For advice on location, tackle, fly or lure selection check with a local tackle shop or a professional angling guide – local knowledge is hard to beat.
To make sure you get the best experience use a local expert. Our charter boat skippers know times, tides and weather - they can provide everything you need for a memorable fishing holiday.
