For a bushwalk of a different kind you can try the 480 kilometre (300 mile) Tasmanian Trail that takes you from Devonport on the north coast to Dover, almost as far south as you can go. You travel through forests, towns, farmland and highland moors, and you can join it at various points along the way.
The Tasmanian Trail travels across private and public land, is maintained by volunteers, and is intended for walkers, mountain bike riders, and those on horseback.
