A beautiful spot to just sit, take in the view, breathe fresh air and watch the little wattle birds catch insects on the wing is Rabbit Hill. Everywhere you look there are views over North West Bay that cry out to be photographed.
Mike Bowyer, writing in the Kingston Classifieds

Thank you for a wonderful hour at Inverawe.  Everyone was impressed with your gardens, including the poetry, sculpture and historical interpretation.
    Tour organiser, Lorraine

    From our visitors’ book:
Feeling of peace – there is an energy field here – partly the view, the birds, the colour, the choice of plants.  Anyone who was frazzled would soon relax once they came here.

Overwhelming – liked the way the garden just blended into the bush

All sorts of little surprises just around the corner

I’m going to steal some of your landscaping ideas!

But don’t take our visitors’ word for it...come and see for yourself!

Tasmania’s largest landscaped native garden is situated 15 minutes drive from Hobart, Tasmania’s capital.

Be inspired by this garden with its enormous collection of Australian native plants that sweep down to the shoreline of North West Bay. Be overwhelmed by the colour, texture and subtle scents.

Take tea on the terrace or just sit on one of the many seats, soak up the atmosphere of peace and serenity, watch some of Inverawe’s 94 bird species bustle about. All twelve endemic bird species have been seen here. Bring a note book and list plants you want for your own garden. They’re identified by name. Borrow some of our landscaping ideas.

French explorers and early botanists anchored in the bay and fetched water from our river. Interpretive signs tell that story. 9500 native plants have gone into this eleven year old garden, supplementing natural regeneration. Plants are chosen for minimum water requirements and sustainability. Paths, rock walls, sculpture and poetry enhance your experience.

You'll be met on arrival, introduced to the garden and given a coloured map to help you navigate around this extensive garden. Guided tours are available on request.
