THE FRIENDS' SCHOOOL PRODUCTION OF
AIDA - SCHOOL EDITION
Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida is a contemporary musical, exploring the timeless bond between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier who is Captain of the Egyptian Army.
As forbidden love blossoms between them, they are forced to face death or part forever. They ultimately transcend the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.
The story of Aida is commonly known to audiences through Giuseppe Verdi’s Italian Opera, which is based on Egyptologist Auguste Mariette’s story. Beginning in a modern day setting, you will be transported back in time to witness this captivating love story.
The Friends’ School is delighted to present their production of Aida, featuring a pop-rock score with stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers.
