It is time to grab your life-jackets, blow up the inflatable raft and get your paint and flour bombs ready for the madness and mayhem that is the Derby River Derby.
The Derby River Derby is a 7kmh inflatable raft race through the unspoilt and picturesque Derby River in Tasmanian's North East.
The annual event brings the sleepy little town of Derby to life for its one big day of the year with an influx of thousands of people from all around the State.
The Derby has been the biggest event in the north east since 1976, when Mr. Rod Miller and Mr. Peter Price organised the still famous "King of the River Race".
The Derby is one of the feature events of the North East Rivers Festival which includes opening activities, Golf Challenge, Pipers Brook Vineyard concert, markets, open garden, art exhibitions, movie night, history walks, combined church service and a wide variety of stalls, food outlets and entertainment, music and ground activities.
