Devonport Choral Society presents one of the world’s favourite musicals, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music.
Loved by adults and children of all ages, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s final musical collaboration features such well-known favourites as “Climb Every Mountain”, “Edelweiss”, “My Favourite Things”, “Do-Re-Mi” and of course, “The Sound of Music”. The cast features Allison Davies as Maria, Brett Budgeon as Captain von Trapp and a double cast of Von Trapp children. The adult cast is a vocal power-house with some familiar faces to the stages of the North-West and an ensemble of 20 nuns.
The production is directed by Dr Emil Djakic, with musical direction by Dominique Baker and Brett Budgeon. While the songs and the characters will be familiar to many, this production promises to have a very fresh look and feel with all new sets and a vibrant local cast.
