Thoroughbreds race meeting, incorporating the Elders Longford Cup.

Longford comes alive with the colour and excitement of the Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival, world class thoroughbred horse racing, fashions, glamour and entertainment.

The Longford Races are a true country meeting in Longford - the home of many horse studs and training facilities.

Held on New Year's Day, the party atmosphere at this meeting always results in a strong turnout, with well over 5,000 patrons at previous race meetings.

Located only 20 minutes from the city of Launceston, this meeting is a firm favourite with the racing community and holidaymakers.

Featuring entertainment and activities throughout the day, including oncourse live music, the ever popular Fashions on the Field, free kids entertainment including pony rides and face paintings, and, of course, oncourse bar facilities.

Ttickets are available on the day at the racecourse or for pre-purchase from the Tasmanian Turf Club and other outlets as set out in the Tasmanian Turf Club website.
