JOHN WILLIAMSON returns to TASSIE with ‘THE BIG RED TOUR’
John Williamson is as Aussie as they come, his words and poetry come from his heart and Tasmania is not a destination left off his agenda. Whether touring or just popping in for a spot of fly fishing with his mate Charles Wooley, this True Blue Australian knows Tasmania well and loves any chance to return.
It’s been a couple of years since he visited the Southern state, his last professional jaunt was in 2011 when he teamed up for a special one-off performance with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in Hobart only. The sell-out concert remains one of his favourites with the entertainer even able to incorporate his song ‘You’ll Return to Tassie’ into the set list backed by the fifty piece orchestra.
In late January 2012, JOHN WILLIAMSON released THE BIG RED, his first studio original album in almost four years. The album title almost makes up the name of his current tour so you can expect his newest hits as well as his iconic songs all in the one performance. This is an experience not to miss!
You can call him what you want, Mallee Boy, True Blue or just plain Fair Dinkum; but there is no denying that after more than forty years in the music industry, John Williamson is truly an Australian icon.
