The Moonah Taste of the World Festival is a celebration through food of the rich cultural diversity of Glenorchy City and southern Tasmania. The inaugarual event, held in March 2011, was an enormous succes, with over 5,000 visitors. Staged in the vibrant suburb of Moonah, a busy hub of diverse eateries and food suppliers, the event will feature 20 food stall holders presenting a mouth-watering selection of dishes and treats from around the globe at very reasonable prices.
Between sampling a range of taste sensations, patrons can enjoy free live music from some of Tasmania’s best known World Music performers and a range of community groups. There will also be a range of activities for children and families to enjoy in the popular Benjafield Park setting.
There will be time to chat with stall holders, some of whom will be presenting their cuisine at a public event for the first time; and above all plenty of opportunity to enjoy the great tastes of global cooking from around the world, brought to you by the many diverse communities and individuals who now call Tasmania home.
The Moonah Taste of the World Festival is brought to you by Glenorchy City Council and our major event sponsor, The Tasmanian Government.
