Kim Seagram who will speak on My Journey of food and wine in Tasmania.

Kim Seagram was lured to Tasmania over 20 years ago by a handsome young man on a ski holiday in Canada and has not looked back since. When she arrived in Tasmania olive oil had just made it out of the chemists and onto the supermarket shelves, cheese was tasty and capsicum was green. What a lot has changed in the last two decades.

Involved in the Stillwater and Black Cow restaurant developments and as part of the management team heading up PR and Marketing, she has a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and the importance of promoting and supporting local produce.

Her decade of work setting up and running the marketing arm of the Vineyards Association of Tasmania as well as her hands on approach establishing Lalla Gully Vineyard (now Leaning Church) with her husband Rod gives her a great insight into the development of the Tasmanian Wine Industry. Sitting on the Board of Tourism Tasmania as well as other Economic Development Groups and as past Deputy Chair of Brand Tasmania keeps Kim abreast of wider community issues and she brings her past experiences and international exposure to these forums.

Recently assisting the committee in setting up Harvest Launceston, Tasmania's Community Farmers Market to great acclaim Kim is a proud Tasmanian.

Join Kim as she discusses not only where we have come from but where we can go in this global world of food security and food safety and her passion for the natural food systems that Tasmania does so well. She is keen to make this an interactive presentation so feel free to bring along any food/wine/tourism questions or topics you would like addressed.
