Tasmania’s own Allison Farrow comes to the Theatre Royal for a sultry yet sophisticated night of jazz, joined by Kelly Ottaway’s classy 8-piece ensemble.
A versatile performer with more than 20 years experience in the arts, Allison has appeared in musicals, operas, plays, films, recordings and a number of arts festivals all over the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and sell-out performances in Tasmania’s Ten
Days on the Island, Festival of Voices, TasPride and MONA FOMA. Her own one-woman cabarets I’m a Stranger Here Myself: the Songs of Kurt Weill, In the Still of the Night: an evening with Cole Porter and Dumb Blonde: the genius of Dolly Parton have played to popular and critical acclaim.
Along with new arrangements of the standards made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire and Ella Fitzgerald, Allison and band will include songs by Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and The Beatles and a few new songs too… you’ll be dancing in your seats!
