    ELGAR Cello Concerto

    DVOŘÁK Symphony No 7

    About the Program

Elgar’s Cello Concerto is one of those rare pieces where player and instrument become one and the voice of the composer speaks in poignant, wordless utterances. Let cellist Sue-Ellen Paulsen and conductor Marko Letonja take you on one of music’s great journeys. Elgar’s passionate concerto is perfectly matched with Dvořák’s dramatic Symphony No 7 and a new, specially commissioned work by Australian composer Julian Langdon.

*Commissioned for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra by Joy Selby Smith, TSO Principal Trumpet Chair Sponsor.
