The Westbury St Patrick's Festival, a celebration of Irish heritage.
The Westbury St Patricks Festival is held each year on the Westbury Village Green over the March weekend closest to St Patrick’s Day– We kick of the festivities off on Friday at the local RSL followed by the main Festival Day, Saturday.
The Festival has been running for a couple of decades – but St Patrick’s Day was first celebrated on the Westbury Village Green in the 1820’s when Irish political prisoners were banished to Tasmania and the Meander valley, and Irish soldiers were garrisoned in Westbury.
Today we celebrate with Celtic influenced music featuring Tasmanian artists, activities for the children, great food and of course Guinness!
The festival day includes entertainment for the kids with a range of children's activities including face painting and a jumping castle.
Stroll through the historic township of Westbury and enjoy the breathtaking scenery and family friendly atmosphere.
