Maria Island Ferry Service
A fast ferry service to Maria Island is available.
Daily return crossings are fast and comfortable with only 30 minute crossings from Triabunna. The ferry has a 30 passenger capacity.
One way and return fares are available.
Departures October to April (Daily):
Triabunna: - 9:00am, 10:30am, 3:00pm
Maria Island: 2:15pm, 4:00pm
May to September: Refer to operators website for times.
Return fares: General public is A$35 per person, Children under five are free, families A$95.00. One Way Fares: General public is A$25 per person, Children under five are free.

Cruise Maria's coastline and discover why Maria Island is considered a rare jewel in Tasmania's wilderness crown. Explore sea caves, spring fed waterfalls, sweeping sandy beaches, towering mountain ranges, the Fossil Cliffs and Painted Cliffs. Your cruise includes interpretation of wildlife and local history, complimentary lunch, tea and coffee and rocky road chocolate. Return to Maria Island at the completion of the cruise and depart the boat at the World Heritage Darlington convict settlement. The afternoon can be spent enjoying a walk with guided interpretation of Maria Island's remarkable convict history, a short walk to the Painted Cliffs or relaxing on a choice of secluded beaches before the boat departs Darlington for Triabunna.

Clouds to Convicts (Maria Island Fly/Cruise) is the most adventure filled tour of Tasmania's East Coast available in one day. Par Avion and East Coast Cruises are offering a spectacular tour to the Maria Island National Park. Your tour commences with a spectacular scenic flight, that takes in the Tasman National Park where we will show you the remote Tasman Island lighthouse and flying over Tasmania's world renowned big wave surfing destination, Shipsterns Bluff. There is an opportunity to have an aerial view of the Historic penal settlement of Port Arthur and see the spectacular cliffs found on the eastern side of the Peninsula, the tallest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere. We then fly up the Mercury Passage, circumnavigating Maria Island before landing at Darlington on Maria Island. This mountainous National Park is found east of Orford on Tasmania's East coast. Upon arrival by plane, our tour boat will meet you for a cruise to see the majestic coastline of Maria Island. You will be able to explore giant sea caves, see the spectacular Fossil and Painted cliffs, unique spring fed waterfalls and the majestic coastline of Maria Island. You will have a chance to stroll to the penal settlement of Darlington and see this World Heritage listed colonial township. Your return flight returns overland to Cambridge via Marion Bay, Dunalley and following the coastline back to Hobart.
