Cradle Country Adventures specialises in small groups, and you travel through spectacular forests with mountain views. You see rivers that abound with trout and platypus.
Cradle Country Adventures use sensible stock horse types, Noble Percherons, Hardy Arabs or fiery Thoroughbreds.
Half Day (2.5 hours) Rides:
Half-day rides take you through undulating areas of old growth forest, grazing land and bluegum plantation. Morning/afternoon tea is served on the bank of the beautiful Mersey River, which is home to many platypus.
For the competent and confident rider there are opportunities for a trot and canter or you can just sit back and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
Trail ride suitable for beginners to advanced.
Small groups only.
Larger groups can be catered for on request.
Morning or afternoon tea included.
Full Day Rides:
Full-day rides are for the more serious rider and you will have plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself and the horse. These rides take in even more of the historic property "Armitstead."

You will be picked up from your Cradle Mountain accommodation and travel to our base just outside the Cradle Mountain World Heritage Area.
An introduction and safety briefing on the Suzuki Ozark 250 prior to climbing to the top of the Speeler Plain.
Our track winds up through ancient myrtle forest and alpine eucalypt forest to the button grass plains at the top of the Speeler.
The spectacular views of Cradle Mountain, Barn Bluff, Mount Roland, Western Bluff and Black Bluff are amazing (and you didn’t even have to walk!)
If the cloud is down then we just have to enjoy the solitude before we head off down the dirt (mostly mud) for a play before boiling the billy and ultimately heading back to base.
