Spirit of Tasmania’s Melbourne-Devonport service offers flexibility and convenience when planning a holiday. The twin ships sail in both directions from Spirit of Tasmania’s terminals located on The Esplanade in East Devonport, Tasmania and Station Pier in Port Melbourne, Victoria. Night sailings depart at 7.30pm and arrive the following morning at 6.00am. Between December and April, Spirit of Tasmania also operates day sailings which depart at 9.00am and arrive the same day at 6.00pm. On these days, night sailings depart at 9.00pm.
Choose from a variety of accommodation options suitable for all budgets including Deluxe Cabins, Twin and Four Berth Cabins and Ocean Recliners. On 9.00am departure sailings, Day Tickets are also available.
All cabins come with their own private ensuite, air conditioning/heating, power socket, reading lights, desk and chair, hanging space and wall mirror. Bedding, towels and soap are also provided.
You will want to explore the dining and entertainment options available on board including The Leatherwood Restaurant showcasing some of Tasmania’s finest produce, The Captain’s Table self-service eatery, Lavender Café, The Spirit Bar, on board cinema, gaming lounge, games arcade and kids' playroom.
There are activities and performances for children and a great line-up of live music on day sailings. Shipmate personal entertainment players are also available for hire so you can watch TV shows, movies and music videos. As if that is not enough - on board there is also a gift shop, travel information centre, internet kiosk, a massage chair and more!
Taking a car, bike or campervan?
Vehicles including those with trailers, caravans and motorhomes can be accommodated on the spacious vehicle decks. Cyclists can conveniently bring their bikes as well. The ferry allows you to load your car with plenty of luggage and gear including golf clubs, fishing rods, camping equipment and anything needed for a touring adventure. No excess baggage - all your own things; let your wheels be your suitcase. Plus, kennels can be booked so pets can come along too!
