Clean, comfortable and efficient taxi services operate in Tasmanian cities and major towns. The average flag fall is $3 with trips charged at around $1.58 per kilometre from 6am to 8pm Monday to Friday and $1.89 per kilometre at all other times. There is a $2 airport pick-up surcharge.

One-way fares between Hobart Airport and the city are around $32-$37 week days (business hours); between Launceston Airport and the city, around $28-$32.
